75万奖金面向网民征集十二生肖吉祥物卡通形象
今年是鼠年，十二生肖又轮回到一个开端。为了弘扬中国传统文化，中国民俗学会和上海美术电影制片厂联合向社会公开征集十二生肖吉祥物卡通形象，本次征集共 设75万元大奖，由上海古玛文化传播有限公司承办。活动从即日起征集到2009年6月1日，整个活动将采用有奖征集画、公众投票选择、专家评审确定的方式 进行。 本征集活动主要是确定生肖吉祥物卡通形象。确定的十二生肖吉祥物卡通形象分别被命名为：吉祥鼠、吉祥牛、吉祥虎、吉祥兔、吉祥龙、吉祥蛇、吉祥马、吉祥羊、吉祥猴、吉祥鸡、吉祥狗、吉祥猪; 十二生肖凝聚了中国几千年的文化和历史，有说不尽的故事和趣味。它不但同绝大多数华人有着密切的关系，而且在许多国家盛行，是人们喜闻乐见的形象和美好吉 祥的象征，是每个人相伴一生的吉祥物，世界上有近30亿人具有生肖文化情结。但是至目前为止，十二生肖没有一套被广大群众认可的、完整、生动、活泼、可爱 的吉祥物卡通形象，这使得人们无法更好地享用生肖文化带来的快乐，也影响了人们对生肖属相所含深刻文化寓意的理解和传播。
为此，通过举办生肖吉祥物卡通形象设计有奖征集活动，举群众之力，集众人的智慧和创意，遴选出符合中国生肖文化主题和理念的吉祥物卡通形象，并通过本征集活动传播我国生肖文化的"吉祥、团结、和谐、祝福"的理念与主题，具有重要的意义。
2008年是鼠年，是十二生肖轮回的又一个开端，同时又是北京奥运会举办之年，上海世博会也在紧锣密鼓的筹备当中，此时举办本征集活动是弘扬中国传统文化的一次重要历史机遇。
